Wine and Sleep

Last night Todd and I went to the ASO Wine Tasting. It was crowded and hot as usual, but a lot of fun. We tried some really great wines, and I even remembered to mark the ones I really liked so I'll actually remember the names next time I'm out to get wine.

Mason stayed the night (yes, the whole night) with my parents. It was my first night away from him, but of course he did great with Nana and Papa. It was wonderful to sleep all night, and even sleep in until 9am today, but I was excited to go pick him up and spend the rest of my day with his smiling face.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I am so excited to report that Mason went to bed last night at about 10pm and didn't wake up until 7am!!!! Of course, since I can't breathe through my nose, I was up on and off all night...

Hopefully this will be his new sleeping pattern, but I won't hold my breath. How great would that be!

Thar she blows...finally

It finally happened. After months of being told Mt Redoubt was going to erupt at any minute...and then being told, oh nevermind, it calmed down...last night it finally happened. As of last count, the volcano has erupted 5 times. So far, Anchorage seems to be avoiding any ashfall, and none is expected, thank god!

Here's ADN's site if anyone is interested.

I should take stock in Kleenex

I thought there was some rule that moms can't get sick. My mom never seemed to get sick. Actually, she still doesn't...as she says, she "doesn't have time". Well, neither do I but nonetheless here is this nasty cold. I'm blaming it on my days working in the ER last week. My immune system has been pretty sheltered for a while, that was probably more than it could handle. That's one nice thing about working in a hospital, you build up a lot of resistance. Anyway, here I am, sick. I just hope I don't give my cold to Mason.

And one more....

Ok, I warned you...once I started posting pictures I would go crazy. We just have so many cute ones of Mason it's hard to decide which ones to put up.

Anyway, here is Mason on Valentine's Day (Yes, he has themed clothing. I know, it's sick. I promise to stop before he gets older)

Finally.....

I know, I know, it's been a while since I've posted some cutie-pie pictures. So, now I'm probably going to overload all of you :)

Mason still HATES tummy time! I'm hoping this gets better soon.

He still loves being in the bath though. He has discovered kicking and splashing that water. He actually splashed so hard it gets water all over the floor!

Mason has also found that he likes to lick the water off his hands...or just suck it off the washcloth. Gross!

I still think he's so cute in his hooded towels.

What a sweet face!

Bad blogger

Sorry it's been so long...things are just busy! I promise to post pics of Mason soon. He is getting so big and is trying SO hard to roll over now.

President Obama signed an order today about embryonic stem cell research, reversing President Bush's previous policy that banned federal funding. This is so exciting for so many reasons! I know there is a huge debate about using embryonic stem cells, and the when is it considered "life"...and I'm not getting into that on this blog. I'm sure Obama will get some crap for this, since most people think he needs to be focusing on the economy 100%...but seriously, this needed to happen. He promised it during his campaign and then made good on those promises! (how many politicians do that?)

On a personal note, today is Monday, which means that my Copaxone injection is in the stomach. I HATE doing it in my stomach, so when I saw Obama did this today it was extra special to think that maybe, someday, I won't have to gives myself shots in the stomach (or at all) anymore! We also banked Mason's cord blood (we used CBR)and in the horrible event he someday needs it, more research can only help widen the scope of diseases treated by stem cells. There's even a possibility that I could use them for my MS!

OK, enough of this. Back to work :)
